Sticker Residue Removal

At Highland, our goal is to give you the best service and coating finish possible.

As our coating complements your product then we need to work together at the design stage to ensure this happens.

Galvanizing is a chemical reaction where zinc and perfectly clean steel react to form the coating. The steel surface must be totally clean for this to happen. Contamination in the form of glue from steelstock labels is a major headache for galvanizers as this must all be removed prior to our process starting.

Sticker Residue

The photos above illustrate various material with labels on them. The label has to be removed prior to galvanizing. This is usually carried out by being mechanically ground off or chemically wiped down. This will then allow our acid pickling to clean your material and for the zinc to react to form the galvanized coating.

Our chemical pre-treatment processes won’t remove the label and glue residue meaning unfortunately the extra work carried out is chargeable due to the additional time taken.

If you want to save time and money make sure your material has no sticky steelstock labels on it
